Factor in.. that at the end (and I'm just gonna ruin it because it's better than having to suffer through it) there's a bomb that you have to defuse. So you have to randomly guess the little password. Up, down, left right arrows. It's random every time and if you make a mistake it resets. You have to figure out the 4 symbol sequence and you have 45 seconds to do it. So you figure it out because it's not that bad.. but then it's like.. FUCK YOU and it throws like an 8 symbol sequence at you right after that so you have like 20 seconds to figure that out if you figured that first one out fast enough. Whaaaat? You assholes. Couldn't I just snip a red wire or push a button? That worked when I had to overload a reactor earlier in the game. Giant room with a button. If you push it.. the whole place explodes in 20 seconds. That's a great idea right there.

What was the point of GeoMod when the majority of the game either took place in indestructible buildings or didn't give you any explosive ammo to actually create any holes?
When you did find yourself with the lucky combination of explosive ammo and destroyable walls there was almost never any point to destroying them as all there was was more rock on the other side in most cases.
The few places where GeoMod was any use could have been scripted instead and the game would have been better for it (albeit without the fancy-but-worthless tech to hype).
I remember a part where there was a convoy of troops and tanks going across a bridge that you had to blow up using the GeoMod stuff. One of the few places it was actually used. It was rubbish, though: If even a tiny nugget of the bridge still connected it to the main level then the thing would not fall down. The entire bridge, with tanks and people on it, behind held up by a spec of dirt at one end. lol, Mars must rock that are is simultaneously ridiculously strong when it comes to tension, compression, etc. and yet also incredibly easy to destroy with explosives.
Finally, it had some forced-stealth segment thrown into the game which is one of the worst examples in any game ever. The game takes away all your guns & ammo to force you to sneak past a few guards when a) if you wanted stealth you would've played a game that was designed around stealth and did it properly and b) if they hadn't just taken away your weapons you could have trivially killed every guard and every one of the reinforcements, just like you had been doing for the entire game up until that point. Grr.
