I have my 360 hooked up via HDMI to an HDMI->DVI converter which is then plugged into a 2-port DVI switch. My computer is plugged into the other port on this switch. The output on this switch goes to my monitor. Now, if I hook up the 360 via HDMI to an HDMI->DVI converter directly to my monitor (DVI in) it works. However, any time I unplug that connection, the 360 restarts (is this some kind of lame anti-piracy shit?). Probably a related problem is that when the 360 is hooked up through the DVI switch it does not work. This is a real pain in the ass. Does anyone know what's wrong? My computer works fine through the switch.

I managed to solve mine with a bit of bodgy surgery on the plug, basically crack it open and cut one wire that loops back. This however was to fix hdmi + optical audio, and I can't remember if i read anything that suggested it'd work for RCA.
I remember i got the info from this thread http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=924291&page=1 but I can't remember which page.
It also seems they still haven't reached a consensus on why it works 6 months later.
