Alright I tried the demo of this. My opinion from it is that sometimes style does make up for lack of substance. The game looks great, the animations are neat, the cut scenes look like they were made by a top notch studio like Blur, Robot or something like that
I'm also impressed with some of the automatic AI behaviors. It is simple but sometimes you just want to watch stuff blow up. I think a lot of people who played Starcraft and Warcraft III used a money cheat and played exactly like this game plays (sending masses of units around)
I like more complicated RTS games like Supreme Commander but this is good too, it doesn't feel all that cumbersome and you can control individual units somewhat by using the pad to sub select units. The main issue I guess is moving around the map. Using a trigger to move fast isn't nearly as good as clicking around to look at what the enemy is doing.
My only worry is that it might get repetitive if (i) there isn't enough variety in mission objectives, or (ii) not enough units... the halo mythos maybe painted them into a corner
Also an aside... it seems like that guy from Uncharted is getting a lot of work these days. He's the main character in Prince of Persia, one of the main characters in this... maybe it sticks out because his voice is so distinctive.

If already in a big group, hit the Right Trigger to cycle between individual units.
