the guy is smiling like a sweetly retarded middle aged person. ah ignorance is bliss. i like how he thinks that "set-top" boxes, IE your cable box will replace sony/nintendo/ms. anyone else think this will happen?

1. console hardware is not profitable
2. consumers have already shown willingness to purchase movies, games, music via cable / Xbox marketplaces
3. doesn't diminish ability to provide long, high quality, large volume content (AAA games, HD & Blue Ray quality movies, etc.)
4. much easier to support with patches
5. much easier to implement piracy controls
6. the market for casual games will equal / exceed the market for "hard core" games
Frankly, I really don't think there's much debate on this one. It really is an eventuality.
