I know they say the games are guaranteed to work on Windows XP and Vista. What this usually means, though, is that they're the same old exeutables as before, just with the compatibility tweaks that allow them to run in modern operating system (i.e., the "compatability" tab on their shortcuts).
This is understandable since actually working on the games is probably out of the scope of what they can do, especially at these prices. But the problem I have is that while they games run, they usually have these showstopping glitches.
Fallout 1 in particular for me is an issue - while the game runs for me in XP and Vista, the colors are usually way off and at some point the screen flashes black and suddenly the game is unplayable.
So is GOG doing anything in particular to make these things run? And if they're not, what is their refund/return policy for when I buy Fallout 1 again and have these issues again?
I could run Fallout 1 in DOSBox but Fallout 2 (which I don't guess I've tried) is a Win95-only game.
