With the destruction of FASA Studios, all hope was lost that the Mechwarrior name would not be continued. We at Mechwarrior: Living Legends, are looking to reinvigorate the brand name with a Mod to Crysis.
Through MANY correspondence emails and phone calls, the Mechwarrior Living Legends development team has obtained a Non-Commercial license directly from Microsoft!

(Really wish I had the tags helper)
The team here at MechWarrior:Living Legends has some fantastic news to share with fans of battletech and of this mod!
Through MANY correspondance and phone conversations with the liscensing and legal department over at Microsoft corporations legal and corporate affairs offices we have finally been given the "go ahead" for this project!
Here is what the top notch people over at Microsoft had to say in our non-commercial license.
"Microsoft grants MechWarrior: Living Legends a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use and display Game Content and to create derivative works based upon Game Content included in the "MechWarrior" Intellectual Property, strictly for noncommercial and personal use. We can revoke this limited use license at any time and for any reason.
If you share your Items with your friends or post them on your web site, then you also must include the following notice about the Game Content. You can put it in a README file, or on the web page from where it’s downloaded, or anywhere else that makes sense so long as anyone who sees your Item will also find this notice.
MechWarrior: Living Legends was created under Microsoft’s “Game Content Usage Rules†using assets from the MechWarrior Intellectual Property, © Microsoft Corporation.
If you wish at any time to market your title please contact us for a commercial liscense.
Legal & Corporate Affairs
Microsoft Canada Co."
We'd Like to thank Microsoft for their continued support as well as their ongoing support of the battletech and MechWarrior universe!
