3 - The Apple upgrade cycle is worth it if you plan on getting iPhone's every year anyway with AppleCare+. If you don't normally get AppleCare+, then it's the same either way if you go through AT&T or Apple, but AppleCare+ is worth it anyway. The same thing with the discount on your line and all that from above also applies here. The only real drawback to it is that if you decide to try some other phone, you'd have to wait two years or pay the rest of the phone outright when you want to do it, since obviously you can't trade in your phone at an Apple store and get an Android phone. With the AT&T Next 24-month plan, you can upgrade every year by giving back your phone, but you're not tied to iPhone, you can get whatever phone you want. If you want AppleCare+, Best Buy (which is where I worked for a few years which is why I know all this) carries AppleCare+ now. But if you don't plan on leaving Apple anytime soon, the Apple upgrade plan is very good.
Feel free to ask me anything about your mobile plan. After 2 years of working at a Best Buy Mobile, helping people out with their mobile plans was my whole thing.
