For example, if I'm in one github repo reading stuff and think "oh, I should look at repo footle, they have something similar", the left bar shows all my github tabs and I can just see it and click it. If I don't have that repo open (it does sometimes happen hehe), then ^T and entering "footle" will open the page in a new tab and add it to the tree in the right place.
I have a few sites I use all the time, so they are memorised I guess.
