The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild video shows off a new side of Link

He's cooking with fire, people. And most of the food is edible.

Ah, Link. If he isn't being a hero and saving the fair princess Zelda, he is a fighter, battling hordes of enemies to keep the bad guys at bay. But now we are seeing a new side of Link: The culinary expert.

In a new video from Nintendo fro Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild, we see our hero cooking over an open fire. The food he cooks will help him down the round. So when he cooks spicy sauteed peppers to raise his body heat, it comes in handy when he sets off to the chilly winter areas. A dish of hearty steamed mushrooms will temproarily increase his maximum hearts, good for battles that you know will incur some damage.

Of course, noit everything comes out properly edible. Mixing a variety of items can produce "dubious food" that is "too gross to even look at" and smells rather bad. You can eat it at your own risk.

The game is scheduled to come out sometime early next year for Wii U and the Nintendo NX.

Hope these new systems like cooking don't end up feeling annoying or tedious, because at first glance this at least looks kinda fun.

I have a feeling it'll be somewhere between cooking meat in Monster Hunter and Alchemy in Elderscrolls.

The slow down when he hits something is weird.

Yeah, I mentioned this before. Maybe they'll remove it or allow us to turn it off.
