The Division has 9.5M registered users; active players average 3 hours per day

Surprise! You guys really like The Division.

10

While we know Tom Clancy’s The Division achieved record-breaking sales within its first 24 hours and going on to sell $330 million worldwide during its launch week, Ubisoft has revealed some additional records for the game in its 2016 Financial Year earnings.

According to the report, The Division has become Ubisoft’s biggest launch of a new IP ever and is still going strong as the game has 9.5M registered users with active players averaging three hours of game time per day. The game also had a 20% attach rate to its season pass, which means nearly two million season passes were sold so far.

The Division’s 91 retention number is also extremely impressive as that indicates 91% of people who were playing 4 weeks ago are also playing the game today.

No. That hasn't been the problem at all, and off hand I don't recall any Shacker complaining about user numbers.

It seems like the game was inherently built around consoles, and relied on that end to handle security. That's just a straight up bad design especially when the development scope of the game is including the PC. Trusting the client is just bad. GTAV can get pretty bad too. I want to say one of the Shack reviewers had a hacker riding on their back.

I'm still waiting to see confirmation about the trusted client--I don't think the guy doing the analysis was 100% certain but all signs do point to it. If that's the real case, there's no excuse for it really. However, it hasn't hurt many people's enjoyment of the game, and they did a large ban wave fairly recently which I think had a positive impact overall.

              LOL.

Was just the first result I found of someone mentioning something about people quitting the game. There's been many others, and even moreso on the subreddit. So don't you worry your special little head! O.O

Every time I go in for matchmaking it finds me a group immediately. Dark Zone feels a little less populated than at peak but still quite a bit going on there too.

I think I have a day in change total according to Uplay/Steam stats. I enjoy it, but I'm good for about an hour or so and then I end up having to watch The Americans} or sex up the wife. Probably just my lifestyle choice though. I can't really think of ANY point lately where I was able to play a single game for more than an hour or two at a time.

Still, I can see how the interest will wane. Not really sure what the fuck I'm going to do when I hit 30 and complete the story missions. There's the DZ, but unless I party up that's a losing proposition and I have ZERO friends in the Uplay ecoverse.

Lots and lots of kids playing the whole afternoon every day after school and then the rest playing an hour or so per week.

That could mean there's only one player left who plays 3 hours per day. Gotta love spinning numbers.

Holy obvious spin, Batman. If you're not going to define "active user" or at least tell what percentage of the people who bought the game fit into that group, it's an absolutely worthless statistic.

I really liked the gameplay, but once I hit 30 and had the gear to do some missions at the hardest difficulty succesfully, I lost motivation and decided to wait for additional content. Then when that came all I read was how simplistic and sucky the new content was, how many exploits there are and how many people were already at cap gear due to said exploits, and I pretty much lost all interest. Didn't help that during my last session in DZ I ran into several griefing mobs that did not only kill you on sight, but screamed some animal noises on the mic to be as annoying as possible. Gotta love the internet.
