PSA: Overwatch beta open to more players this weekend

Wanna play some Overwatch? Blizzard's running one more beta for the next 36 hours.

In typical Blizzard fashion, Overwatch has been in closed beta for several months while its developers iron out bugs and massage balance. Now, Blizzard is throwing open the floodgates to invite more players into the beta from 9am Pacific today, Friday, through Saturday, April 16, at 9pm Pacific.

How many players have been selected? No one seems to know, and Blizzard isn't talking. You'll know if you won the beta lotto by opening your Battle.net launcher and looking for an invite. You might also have received an invite through the email you registered with Battle.net, or there may be a shiny new icon in your account.

Soon enough, everyone will be able to play: this will be the game's last weekend in closed beta ahead of its transition to open beta in early May. Not long after that comes the game's full retail release on May 24 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

There's plenty to look forward to in Overwatch this weekend, provided you're one of the chosen many who make the cut. You'll have access to all 21 characters as well as three maps.
