There's some new stuff headed to Super Mario Maker, as revealed earlier today. But all of that new content is coming next week. What about right now?

Well, there's a new Mystery Mushroom in the form of Statue Mario. The Statue Mario event course has been uploaded tonight and clearing it grants players a Costume Mario mushroom that transforms the plumber into the Tanooki statue from Super Mario Bros. 3... sort of. It's not so much a transformation as it is just Mario hiding behind the costume. In fact, he even picks it up and takes it with him whenever the player attempts to run.

To get a look at how Statue Mario will work, check out the video below. The Statue Mario event course should be available tonight.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
