Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past Releases Later This Year

Get ready to clear your plate for another tasty RPG.

Today's Nintendo Direct featured the upcoming Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, a complete remake of the original game.

It's been completely rebuilt from the ground up with new 3D models, a completely retranslated story, and more. It'll feature classic JRPG turn-based combat with gain access to 30 classes with varying abilities, art by Akira Toriyama (of course!) and will be releasing later this year.

Unfortunately there wasn't an exact date given during the presentation, but we can look forward to it hopefully during a time when there isn't so much going on game-wise that we can't keep up. If you've never played a Dragon Quest game before, this might be a good jumping-off point, especially with so many excellent titles in the series.
