After briefly going back to the drawing board, Blizzard is ready to return for another round of Overwatch. Following up on its January announcement, the game's closed beta is now confirmed to return next week and Blizzard's including a few new changes this time around.

This time around, players will find a new progression system for their hero of choice. Two new maps and a new game mode will also be made available, along with a series of Private Game updates that should include AI bots. The game's playable characters will have also undergone some balance tweaks and Blizzard will be on the lookout to see if any additional changes need to be made prior to the game's launch.

The Overwatch closed beta returns on February 9. Those looking to sign up can check out today's Battle.net post. Look for Overwatch to arrive this Spring.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
