Guitar Hero Live is going to shake up a lot of things about the old Guitar Hero formula. To many, it will be unrecognizable, having to make the shift from five frets to three high/low frets. But let no one say that Activision and FreeStyleGames don't remember the good times. That's why today, they're revealing a handful of new tracks, all of which have appeared in a previous Guitar Hero title.

Guitar Hero veterans should recognize the following songs:

  • Living Colour - Cult Of Personality
  • Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot (Live)
  • Ratt - Round and Round
  • Slipknot - Before I Forget
  • AFI - Girl's Not Grey
  • Warrant - Cherry Pie
  • Incubus - Drive
  • Faith No More - Epic
  • Audioslave - Cochise
  • Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
  • Queen - We Are The Champions
  • Disturbed - Down With The Sickness

For those that want a taste of the music that's coming to Guitar Hero Live, Activision has also opened up the game's official Spotify playlist. This playlist will be updated over time to include any new additions to GHTV.

Guitar Hero Live will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and mobile devices on October 20, with an Apple TV version also coming soon.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
