FIFA 16 demo takes the pitch today

It's been months since the Women's World Cup concluded, but those still hungry for soccer can pick up the FIFA 16 demo, released today across PC and consoles.

Not content to rest at the top of the soccer mountain, EA Sports is continuing to look for new ideas for FIFA 16. Shacknews went over many of these new features in our most recent impressions piece, but now players will be able to try those changes out for themselves with the new FIFA 16 demo.

The FIFA 16 demo will include several of FIFA 16's new additions, including the new FUT Draft. This is the mode that allows users to create their own fantasy rosters before competing in single-player or online play. The main Kick-off mode will feature eight men's clubs (FC Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Chelsea FC, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid CF, River Plate and Seattle Sounders). The new Women's National Teams will also be represented, with the United States and German national teams playable.

EA Sports is celebrating today's demo by also releasing, appropriately enough, a celebrations tutorial video. That can be seen below. The FIFA 16 demo is available now on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
