CD Projekt Red has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s first expansion, Hearts of Stone, will be released on October 13, 2015.

Hearts of Stone, which we learned about earlier this year, adds over 10 hours of content that includes new adventures, characters, monsters, unique romances, and a brand-new storyline that can be affected by the player’s choice. The expansion will also introduce Runewords, which will have a significant impact on the game. Each Runeword will affect a different aspect of in-game mechanics and will allow players to test out different strategies and tactics using these powerful tools.

In addition to Hearts of Stone’s digital release, Witcher fans will be able to purchase a limited boxed edition of the expansion for $19.99 at select retailers worldwide. The box will contain a digital download code for Hearts of Stone, two physical decks of Gwent, and a manual explaining the card game.

10 hours? But that's like the length of one side quest.

Looks like Shani is in this one, based on the header image.

Apparently the expansion content is intended for level 30, and will be levelled up for NG+. So unless you want to play 100 hours of the base game again to get there, make sure you have a non NG+ save available.

I just finished the game last night. It took me over 100 hours and I think half the map is unexplored. I did get my full mastercrafted feline set and Eredin is a pussycat. I don't think he even hit me. Whirl attack supremacy.

Ending spoilers (and I'm curious what other people got):
Radovid, Dijkstra dead. Temeria a semi-autonomous vassal state. Ciri alive, and I brought her a cool sword engraved with "Swallow". Yen off somewhere in the north. Triss, who knows. Emhyr says he's not interested in going after her. No word of Phillipa, presumably she's taken Yen's place at Emhyr's court?

This is the best game ever made. I tried to play some other things, and they all feel empty and sad and shit in comparison. Hopefully this hangover doesn't last for too long.

Yeah, I slept with every person the game allowed me to. Triss and Yen chained me to a bed and left me. Dandelion rescued me the next morning.
