2K Games and Firaxis brought XCOM 2 to Gamescom earlier this month to reveal some new footage. Now that gameplay is available for everyone to see as the publisher and developer have posted the full Gamescom 2015 demo.

Beyond the turn-based gameplay, this demo places an emphasis on the central hub, a repurposed alien vessel known as The Avenger. This is where players will assign staff members to various departments, such as weapons research, engineering, and other areas. Depending on where those staff members are assigned, new resources can be made available at a faster rate. Players can also meet some of XCOM's other central characters and supporting cast, while training new soldiers from scratch.

The full video demonstrating the Avenger's capabilities can be found below. XCOM 2 is set to release on PC in November.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
