Ubisoft has a surprise for Far Cry 4 fans. That surprise is... not surprising at all, of course, because Far Cry 4 is getting a Season Pass. Yes, as has become the trend, the latest entry to the series will have Season Pass content, though Ubisoft will go a step further in this case and have some of this content ready to release on launch day.

'The Syringe' is an exclusive launch day mission for Season Pass holders, in which players must prevent Pagan Min's forces from getting their hands on a rare recipe. The mission can be played either solo or with a friend.

Other Season Pass content includes 'Escape from Durgesh Prison,' which sees Ajay and Hurk in the midst of a torture session. The idea, of course, is to escape, either solo or playing co-op with a buddy. The Hurk Deluxe Pack will arrive later, featuring five missions and new weapons.

New game modes will also be included. 'Overrun' is a PvP mode that sees teams defending territories from the enemy, while 'Valley of the Yetis' is a tower defense-like mode that sees players bolstering their base before nightfall to help it withstand the night-long abominable snowman onslaught.

The Season Pass will run for $29.99, a 20 percent savings from buying it all a la carte. Far Cry 4 is set to arrive on November 18.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
