Mega Man X4 and X5 coming to PS3, PS Vita in early September

Two of the Blue Bomber's more memorable adventures are coming to PSN.

A lot of Mega Man games these days are certainly becoming rare in the gaming market, especially the Mega Man X titles, which can fetch a pretty penny over on eBay. However, Capcom has recently provided a more affordable alternative for two of its bigger PlayStation efforts, as both Mega Man X4 and X5 will be available for download soon on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.

In an announcement over at the Capcom-Unity Blog, the company confirmed that both X4 and X5 would release for both consoles through the PlayStation Network, with X4 coming on September 2nd and X5 coming on the 9th. There's no word on pricing, but the games should be around $9.99 each, or maybe even less.

These games join other downloadable Mega Man hits in the store, including Mega Man 1-4 in the import front and Maverick Hunter X for PSP. So, if you're a fan of the Blue Bomber, and don't own his efforts from previous pick-ups, don't miss these re-releases.

I didn't even know the X series counted that high.

Personally it's X3 for me but 4 is definitely the best on the PS.

            X2 > x3

X3 is a really close contender for me too. I think the Zero mechanics introduced in X4 push me to like it a bit more than X3 though.

I really liked the chip system in 3 though. Would have liked to see that concept expanded more in later games.

          X1 > X3 > X4 > X2 for me, the rest dont exist.

I'm biased tho. X1 was young me's first introduction to mega man, period. It has been a long and fruitful love.

Yeah, this is pretty much how I feel about them. Level design in X2 wasn't the best at times.

It's funny they didn't even bother porting X6. I guess they'd rather not show everybody the lowest point in the Mega Man series.

X1 was definitely the best one.

It goes up to X8, but I like to imagine it ends at X5 (especially since Kenji Inafune intended the series to end at that point).

strangely pretty much all of them are on PC, but the ports are weird and foreign and buggy

      This is much needed progress!

X4 was the pinnacle of the series, and that's not just because of the cut scenes.
