Tekken 7 director wants feedback on new character

Harada wants to know how fans feel about the new Arab character.

A few days ago, Tekken 7 director Katsuhiro Harada posted art for a proposed new character in the game, based on the concept of an Arab character. It's gotten a great deal of feedback since its posting on Facebook, but that isn't stopping Harada from asking for even more feedback from fans.

"To be honest, we did have an idea of an Arab fighter since 2008, but since most of the development team members are Japanese and do not know much about the Middle Eastern culture or clothes, we were not able to fully design it back then," he said. "But in recent years I have been visiting places such as Dubai and Saudi Arabia, and many of the development staff members have been learning about Middle Eastern culture and designs."

Tekken 7 is currently slated for a release sometime in 2015. What do you think about the character design?

As a long time Tekken player and fan,I can honestly say that it's time for them to put this game up.

Tekken 4 was, imo, the best of the series where the focus of fighting was still on raw skill of move/combo memorization before it got completely out of hand with the juggle system.Juggling was still in the game before 5,but it was just too much from 5 on.

I've played Tekken since Tekken 2 launched in the arcade and... I agree with you on all points.

The only caveat I have is that I still want them to make Tekken vs Street Fighter. They can stop after that.

i still prefer the tekken 3 / tekken tag system. tekken 4 and beyond seemed to introduce a little too much depth mobility for my liking, i preferred the mostly 2d plane system of the previous ones.

AFAIK Tekken 4 is pretty much consistently considered the worst entry in the competitive scene.
