For a two-person indie studio, MixedBag has been awfully busy. On the heels of announcing their Vita shooter, Futuridium EP, the studio has announced a new action-adventure called forma.8 that will takes players to the shadowy recesses of a distant planet.
Players take control of a small exploration probe called forma.8, separated from his allies. The lost probe must find a powerful energy source hidden deep within the planet, taking on various native hostiles along the way. As with many Metroidvania games, there will be a lot of backtracking, but it will be up to the player to piece together the story, as there will be no verbal communication of any sort. The story will be told purely through images and sound.
forma.8 has been in development for a little over two years and MixedBag credits Sony and Nintendo for helping their game reach a playable state. It's coming later this year PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Wii U, Vita, and iOS.
