Following the success of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's Operation Payback and Operation Bravo, Valve has released a third set of community maps under the banner 'Operation Phoenix.' This new pack will include eight community-made maps, 13 new weapon finishes, and an in-game coin to help keep track of competitive stats.

The eight maps chosen by the community are Cache, Motel, Seaside, Downtown, Thunder, Ali, Favela, and Agency. All of them are playable across Casual, Deathmatch, and Competitive game modes.

The Operation Phoenix Coin is visible on a player's avatar and displays a complete record of Official Competitive Match stats throughout Operation Phoenix. The Coin can be upgraded through play time and wins, just like with the previous Operation Coins.

Operation Phoenix will run through June 4 at a $2.99 price tag, with a portion of proceeds going to the map creators. For more on the maps, check out the Valve subsite.

But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
