The kingdom of Opulencia is home to decadent, medieval castles filled to the brim with treasure and, as such, it's also home to ruthless raiders looking for some easy income. Opulencia is about to see an influx in its bandit population, as The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot will be entering open beta on February 25.

The game's blog has the details, pointing out that the game's fourth character (the Runaway) will make her debut at the open beta's launch. More features are expected roll out from there, including an Open Creation mode for custom items.

Shacknews last went hands-on with The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot in July and it made for a decent dungeon crawler, albeit one that's bogged down by a number of free-to-play mechanics. If you can't wait for the open beta, Ubisoft is still taking sign-ups for the closed beta.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
