Duel Mode coming to Magicka: Wizard Wars

Magicka: Wizard Wars will be adding a Duel Mode to its public alpha very soon, just in case there's that one magical robed jerk that you'd like to kill personally.

Magicka: Wizard Wars continues to push forward the idea of Wizard-on-Wizard violence. While the free-to-play game is currently centered around team-based PvP battles, Paradox Interactive has announced that they'll be adding a Duel Mode to the game's public alpha to give magical murder a more personal head-to-head touch.

Duel Mode will begin with four players: two that start the battle and two others that spectate. The fallen wizard is replaced by one of the spectators, with the cycle continuing until one player has scored six kills.

Duel Mode is slated to be added "in the very near future." In the meantime, check out the trailer below. Sign-ups for the free-to-play Magicka: Wizard Wars public alpha are available on the official site.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
