The Independent Games Festival has revealed the finalists for this year's awards, to be recognized during March's Game Developers Conference. The six games up for the Seumas McNally Grand Prize include a number of indie titles that have been mentioned in Game of the Year conversations, including Galactic Cafe's The Stanley Parable, Klei's Don't Starve, and Lucas Pope's Papers, Please.
The other three nominees are Necrophone Games' adventure comedy Jazzpunk, Simogo's wild iOS puzzle thriller Device 6, and Deirdra Klai Productions' stop-motion musical comedy Dominique Pamplemousse in "It's All Over Once the Fat Lady Sings!" The Seumas McNally Grand Prize winner will receive $30,000, following in the footsteps of 2013 winner Cart Life.
Papers, Please is nominated four of six categories, including Excellence in Narrative and the Nuovo Award for "abstract... and unconventional game development". The Stanley Parable received three nominations in all, also for the narrative and Excellence in Audio prizes.
