Cut the Rope is finally getting a proper sequel, after countless spin-offs. Cut the Rope 2 is launching this holiday season, with shiny "re-imagined" features. But what those features are haven't been detailed.

Om Nom will return, likely still hungry for candy, but the sequel will also introduce new characters. There will also be "interactive environments" and, crucially, a brand new storyline.

"We remain dedicated to our mission: examining the science of fun," ZeptoLab CEO Misha Lyalin said in a press statement (via Polygon). "That means building experiences that players love. Cut the Rope 2 is a massive step forward for the game. Amazing graphics, gameplay and characters drive a brand new experience that fans are going to love."

Finally a story!! I didint like the first one cause there was no plot what so ever.... i just NEED to know what are the deep intricate mechanics that drives a psyche such as om nom.

While driving down the highway, distracted by devouring candy, Om Nom veered into another lane and struck a family of four in a minivan. The vehicle lost control, struck the median, and flipped. Everyone inside was killed. After years of failed drug counseling, he has returned to candy. Om Nom both loves, and hates, himself. This is his story.

      Storyline?
Why do game developers insist on adding useless plot lines to basic puzzle/strategy games.
I remember the really good game "Advance Wars" which included so much stupid, pointless back story and character development it was nuts.

It's like trying to explain in Tetris why lining up blocks in straight lines is somehow necessary to allow the block creatures from another dimension to return home...or something.

I've had the games for about a year but they became pretty much malware with the updates. I didn't click anything one time and it launched the website for their homepage. I had to delete it because that was pretty lame.

I am guessing they are going the 'free to play' route.

that's my assumption too. i really liked the first one, but i'm avoiding all of the F2P sequels that seem to be coming out.
