Rayman Legends delayed to September, PS3 and 360 versions announced
by Steve Watts, Feb 07, 2013 8:45am PSTRayman Legends was due in just a few scant weeks on the Wii U, but the game has now been pushed all the way to September. The good news, at least for those who don't own a Wii U, is that the game will be available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well.
The announcement today didn't give a specific date in September for the release, but Ubisoft was very frank about its reasoning for the move. "We heard from many Xbox and PlayStation owners and Rayman fans who told us they really wanted to play Rayman Legends on their current system", said EMEA chief marketing officer Geoffroy Sardin, in the announcement. "We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game."
Of course, this is bad news for those who hoped Rayman would serve as a system seller to expand the Wii U ownership base and attract more developers to the fledgling console. But if you just want to play a pretty HD platformer on your current console, you're all set.
