Hitman getting another movie, Paul Walker to star
by Steve Watts, Feb 06, 2013 11:45am PSTThe Hitman franchise is getting a rebooted film adaptation, starting from scratch with Fast and Furious 6 star Paul Walker in the lead role. He'll be playing the titular hired gun in Agent 47, with a script penned by the writers of A Good Day To Die Hard.
Deadline reports that the movie will be the feature film debut of Aleksander Bach, who up to this point has been an up-and-coming commercials director. Fox International Pictures is said to be banking on international success in particular, since both the Hitman series and the Fast and Furious series are hits overseas. Shooting will begin this summer in Berlin and Singapore, which seems to indicate some globe-trotting assassinations.
Fox previously tried an adaptation in 2007, simply called Hitman. Rumors of a sequel have persisted despite a poor critical reception. With this announcement, that scuttlebutt can be put to rest.
