Capcom avoiding late ports on Wii U
Resident Evil 6 won't hit Wii U because Capcom doesn't want to work on late ports.
For the Nintendo faithful, Wii U's launch offered fans the ability to play popular multiplatform HD games for the very first time ever. From Batman: Arkham City to Mass Effect 3, Wii U's initial library included a number of late ports for Nintendo fans to enjoy. One noteworthy omission from the lineup is Resident Evil 6, a game that Capcom says won't hit the platform because of the publisher's focus on avoiding late ports.
"With regard to Wii U, in general we're looking forward, not back so late ports are generally not on the table," Christian Svensson said on the Capcom-Unity forums (via Siliconera). That means games like Lost Planet 3 and Devil May Cry are unlikely to hit the Wii U.
Of course, Wii U owners can look forward to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, "our currently largest brand coming to Nintendo's existing portable and new console platform," he pointed out. "The significance of that should not be underestimated."
