Grand Theft Auto 5 PC petition gains traction
by Steve Watts, Nov 27, 2012 1:30pm PSTRockstar's been mum on the possibility of Grand Theft Auto 5 heading to PC, and fans of the platform are none-too-happy about it. The complaints have taken the form of an online petition, and it's gaining momentum.
As of the time of writing, the petition (via IGN) has reached more than 73,000 signatures, quickly approaching its goal of 100,000. The petition hopes that by showing Rockstar that support for a PC version exists, it can coax the publisher into producing a port of the game.
The petition raises the history of mods in the Grand Theft Auto series, and the relative power of the PC platform to run the game. Grand Theft Auto 4, in particular, has enjoyed a healthy extended lifespan in the mod scene. Rockstar has not explicitly ruled out a PC version, but has said it is "currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions" right now.
