Minecraft tops Modern Warfare 3 on XBL chart
by Steve Watts, Oct 25, 2012 10:00pm PDTActivision's Call of Duty series has ruled the roost on the Xbox Live activity charts for a few years now. The current game usually tops the list and others fight for the remaining nine spots. But Minecraft has been no slouch in the sales department, and just recently released a large update, helping push the game to the top of the charts and past the usually-dominant Modern Warfare 3.
The latest Xbox Live Activity shows Minecraft at the top spot, followed by MW3 and the also generally strong FIFA Soccer 13. This marks the first time Minecraft has topped the charts.
The chart tracks global unique users playing a game while connected to Xbox Live, for the week beginning October 15. On October 16, the game received a patch that added Creative Mode, new tools, bug fixes, and various other improvements.
