Dead Space dev may be making a MOBA
by Steve Watts, Oct 10, 2012 3:00pm PDTVisceral Games is likely setting its sights on whatever is to come after Dead Space 3, and it may be a pretty big departure from the studio's recent history. According to various hiring hints, the studio seems to be looking into a MOBA.
IGN reports that several job listings all point in a very specific direction. One for a Global Community Manager asks for an "unhealthy passion for MOBA games." It's also seeking a Game Designer with experience on MOBAs and action RTS games, plus a knowledge of competitive gaming. Finally, a Lead Multiplayer Map Designer listing calls for knowledge of multiplayer gaming and the action/shooter genre. The studio is also seeking a Concept Artist on contract for a PC action title.
The project seems to be a MOBA with shooter elements, and true to the genre it could go free-to-play. If so, it would seem likely to hit EA's "Play4Free" line of games, which includes entries from the Battlefield and Command & Conquer series.
