FIFA Soccer 13 to incorporate real-world injuries and suspensions
by Andrew Yoon, Aug 14, 2012 5:00pm PDTWhen players get hurt in real life, they will get hurt in the video game. It's like we're living in The Matrix, man.
FIFA Soccer 13 will add a new feature called "EA Sports Football Club Match Day" that incorporates real-world news into the game. "Real-world drama such as injuries, suspensions, team form, and media gossip will be reflected through in-game commentary and play out in-game," the announcement promises.
What that means is player stats will dynamically change throughout the season, based on real-life player performance. In addition, EA Sports will also highlight "Games of the Week," which will let players relive some of the top games every week.
The announcement only mentions PS3, Xbox 360, and PC as supporting the feature. It appears the handheld versions, and potentially the Wii U version, will not offer this connectivity.
