Trion and Crytek to co-produce Warface
by Steve Watts, Jul 26, 2012 1:00pm PDTCrytek and Trion Worlds have announced that they will co-publish and co-operate the upcoming free-to-play shooter Warface in North America, Europe, and various other territories. It will be offered through Crytek's social platform GFACE. Crytek is just stepping foot into F2P games, and will be relying on Trion's experience with online services.
The game is already live in Russia, and won awards in its homeland. Here in the states, closed beta sign-ups started in March. Crytek recently announced it would be moving toward the F2P model with games like Warface, as CEO Cevat Yerli said the packaged good market is "literally milking the customers to death" with DLC and premium services. Literally.
