The Last of Us cinematic introduces Bill
by Andrew Yoon, Jul 15, 2012 4:00pm PDTThe Last of Us stole critics hearts and won Game of Show at this year's E3. Naughty Dog's survival horror game is a gritty adventure, and this newly revealed cinematic from San Diego Comic-Con only further highlights the grim reality that Joel and Ellie must face in a post-apocalyptic Philadelphia. Check out the new video, but be warned: there's some adult language.

Looks really fucking cool!
One thing bugged me though. With all the great work with the lighting, models, textures etc., I wish they would've pushed some of the facial acting more, especially in and around the eyes. There are a few moments there, but the scene seems to die in the face a fair bit and I found myself staring at their mouths way more than I should have because there was little else going on in the face. There could be more to show their thought processes and really sell the emotion that's being drawn through their associated voices.
It's very likely it's just a time constraint thing as they've shown in other things they have the talent to do it, and it's obviously not going make or break anything as hardly anyone in the general public will actually notice, but it did stick out a bit for me.
