Hiding inside a box isn't nearly as glamorous or exciting as video games might pretend, so if you need a spot of escapism in your cardboard cradle, you'll be able to play Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PlayStation Vita in a few weeks. Having hit consoles back in November, it'll sneak onto the handheld on June 12, publisher Konami has announced.

The Collection packs Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, jazzed up in the Vita screen's higher resolution. It also taps the touch-screen and touchpad, with gestures to let you, in Konami's words, "zoom in on captivating cut-scenes, peek around corners, interrogate enemies, cycle through weapons, and perform rapid attacks with their knife."

Plus, of course, there's that awkward buzzword 'Transfarring.' You'll be able to swap your save data from the PS3 edition to the Vita and vice versa, for truly dedicated agents.

Having never played a game in the series, is it really that good?

Will it be vanilla MGS2? I never got to play Substance. Less Raiden, more Plisskin

It is Substance and Subsistence. The Substance extras are excellent, highly recommended. Never did finish all of the VR missions though. I had like 98.5% completion and got to that fucking "Protect the Curry!" sniping mission where all the soldiers are wearing stealth camo. Shit gets hard.
