Batman: Arkham City GOTY, Harley Quinn DLC announced

Batman: Arkham City is getting the "Harley Quinn's Revenge" DLC and the "Game of the Year" edition that includes all DLC packs, in late May.

Update 8:15 a.m.: Rocksteady's community manager has issued an updated tweet correcting the previous date; the Harley Quinn DLC will launch on May 29 (PSN) and May 30 (XBL) alongside the Game of the Year edition.

Original Story: Warner Bros and Rocksteady Studios confirmed not one but two rumors today, with the announcement of both a Game of the Year edition and another pack of upcoming downloadable content for Batman: Arkham City. The newly announced Harley Quinn DLC is coming soon, and if you were patient enough to wait for Batman this long, waiting some more for the GOTY edition will get you that content (and loads of other goodies) included.

First, as suspected, the game is getting the "Harley Quinn's Revenge" pack. Harley sports a new look in this "final chapter" to the game, which presumably means it takes place after the events of the game. It features new story content and the ability to play as both Batman and Robin. It will be available to download on April 30, says a tweet from a Rocksteady community manager.

If you'd rather wait another month to get all of your Batmans in one place, the "Game of the Year" edition is coming May 29. It includes the game and the Harley Quinn DLC, along with all of the previous packs: Catwoman, Nightwing, Robin, Challenge Map Pack, and Arkham City Skins Pack. Plus, if you're in the US or Canada, you'll get a download code for the movie Batman: Year One. That's quite a bit of Batman all in one place, so if you've managed to hold off this long, there's really no reason not to wait a little longer.

So is this the first Arkham City DLC to actually expand the story? Everything else was just meaningless skins and challenge maps, right? I don't remember reading anything about this "Catwoman" pack, either. Is that a real expansion, or more meaningless fluff?

Catwoman was a "buy new" pack-in, and it did have some story to it, although if you didn't have the code it just skipped over the parts during your normal campaign.

if the first thing you played in arkham city was a catwoman part then yes you have it. All digital copies should have it. not sure about retail.

Anyone know if this will double for achievement whores like Arkham Asylum GotY did? (Show up twice in your gamercard as two separate titles?)

Game of the Year editions have come to mean "the edition that includes all of the previous content we released for this game".

I really enjoyed the first one. I think I'll wait a little longer and pick up the GOTY edition. When is another matter. I may just wait until it all drops to $10 in a Steam sale. Batman is a good game and all, but I don't get off on the whole man-dressed-as-bat thing. It's goofy as Hell.
