Max Payne 3's comic-inspired cutscenes revealed
by Andrew Yoon, Mar 15, 2012 9:15am PDTWhen I previewed Max Payne 3 last year, I applauded the game's cinematic cutscenes. While it may not copy the look of the first two games, the graphic novel-inspired movie sequences are quite unique, thanks to dynamic text overlays, and Michael Mann-inspired camera and lighting work. In a new trailer released by Rockstar Games, you'll see exactly how they look.
"The game transitions from gameplay to cutscenes using a range of cinematic editing techniques," the video explains. "Without ever showing a loading screen." That should help keep you immersed.
Max Payne 3 will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 15th, with the PC release following two weeks later. That should PC players some time to enjoy Diablo 3 before bullet-time-jumping-in, right?
