'Exclusive' Battlefield 3 DLC offered in Dr. Pepper promotion
by Xav de Matos, Oct 31, 2011 11:45am PDTEA's promotional relationship with the Dr Pepper Snapple Group continues, with a new in-game content giveaway offer tied to the recently launched DICE title, Battlefield 3.
Specially marked bottles of Dr Pepper include a code good for "exclusive downloadable content," including "five creatively-crafted dog tags."
The five themed tags include everything from nods to Hello Kitty and the unfortunate Rebecca Black song 'Friday,' to tags that seem appropriate for today's holiday.
An exclusive skin for Battlefield 3's multiplayer mode is also on offer, as well as an exclusive PlayStation Home avatar for PS3 users. Codes may be redeemed on the Dr Pepper website.
EA and the Dr Pepper Snapple Group also teamed up to give away DLC for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which included new skins and weapons for the game's four classes. Eventually that content was made available to gamers worldwide, as the--seemingly annual--promotion is only available in the United States.
