wow serious sam kicks ass, it seems like the only thing id and them have in common tho is good engine technology. id is great at awsome artwork and sweet style. ss is a little weak in this respect but it makes up for it and more in gameplay, something id seems to lack lately

Uhm, this interview states that Croteam have have almost the complete game done since October !

The last part was multiplayer and bugfixing i think! How elite is that?! What if they had crapped the Multiplayer part and released it before UT and Q3(which were released in November/December) !?
I mean, that would have ruined it all, Q3 with its curves and UT with its [insert cool effect here] , oh wait, a game from Croatia beat them both! Hahah :)

Complete the demo now Croteam, i wanna raise hell in multiplayer with the Gatling on those huge levels! *Screams like a woman*

Just played it a minute ago (for the first time). Couldn't resist after everybody was talking about how great it was. After dropping the sensitivity a good bit, I was rather impressed... especially for something coming out of Croatia. :D

All those enemies, the weapons, the bright and sunny atmosphere... what a great change of pace. That's a nice graphics engine as well, but the physics are a bit wierd. What's up with the air control? :)

The game should be ready for a second quarter 2000 release. The demo is planned by the end of this year.

Based on their demo timeframe, I'd wager it's going to be closer to Q3 or Q4 2000 for this puppy.

While I can't wait for this thing, I REALLY, REALLY hope that it will be ready "when it's done", instead of being rushed for some artificial deadline.

Another thing that's impressive about Serious Sam, check out those .MPG files of the level editor in action. Holy crap, the mod community is gonna love that.

I just played Serious Sam and that game really kicks ass. I hope that id plays it before starting Doom 3. Serious Sam feels like the original Doom. I also hope that Carmack programs his next engine with Sam-like specs in mind (500mhz 128mgs ram).

It's cool and refreshing to see these new games like MDK2 and Serious Sam come out with little fanfare/hype, and really be pleasing to gamers. I'm glad developers are getting into a no-hype mentality, though I kinda wonder how long id can keep a lid on the next DOOM game.

At least Mr. Romero has gained experience enough to know when to talk about stuff and when not to talk about stuff (Mr. Steed). The media is politics, and you can't play politics and expect to get any kind of real work done. Just ask any president.

I just finished Daikatana yesterday. Dissappointed with the ending, although not sure if I could come up with anything better. Hated the super-mario bros portion of the episode - no one should get so mad at a game they punch the monitor (ow...).

i really enjoyed quake 2 single player
the game i really loved was BLAKE STONE, perhaps because it was my first 3d shooter. doom was perfect and i'm sure id is going to make it perfect again, they are not stupid. look at the history of id and you'll notice how smart they're

DOOM rules, but the thing that made doom sweet was the freaky single player, not the mutli. ID needs to make sure that single player is key in that game. Quake 1 single was ok, Quake 2 was weak, and Quake 3 single is almost not single player. Its been a long while since there was a good ID single player game so it remains to be seenn....

I wonder if Romero is pissed or even jealous that he will not be able work on this game. I really don't understand why so many people want to see Romero back at id - he does not fit the mold of that company anymore. Don't get me wrong, I know that he is very talented, but he would have to change his attitude and his work ethic completely.

Bioware is certainly an... odd choice. Taking nothing away from them (MDK2 is great, Baldurs Gate was great, Baldurs Gate 2 looks killer!) they wouldnt be my first choice. My gut tells me that Grey Matter would have been a good fit, except theyre doing Return to Wolf.

I say keep it at it, it wouldnt feel 'right' otherwise...
