After years of silence, I Am Alive is finally finding release. Ubisoft has announced that the survival horror game--first debuted as a retail game in 2008--will be released on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network "this winter."

Developed by Ubisoft Shanghai, the downloadable game follows an "everyman" who is trying to survive after the world is in ruins after a mysterious "Event."

"We know people have been waiting for this game to arrive, and we believe it’s going to be worth the wait," Adam Novickas, Director of Marketing at Ubisoft, said in a press release. "I Am Alive presents a unique take on the post-apocalyptic, survival genre by creating more complex and emotional situations for the player. Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network are the perfect platforms to leverage the mature and challenging experiences of the game."

I was under the impression that they never intended to release it on PC? I wasnt surprised about this.
In any case, color me disappoint...
Ubisoft will probably forever and ever known as the company who despises the PC platform.

Man :( not again, I thought this would be the Alan Wake we never had on the PC , yet it seems they take this away one from us as well.

Not cool. Still Ubisoft are real good about PC versions, they always make one, sure its comes out late but it usually always does. Its not over yet....

Haha, yeah, it has Alan Wake vibe to it, now that you mention it.
Being a PC gamer is getting more difficult by the day, but if you have a friend who has a console, maybe you can hijack the console after he is done hehe...

Oh well, we will see how this goes. It probably will be either be delayed, DRM-ed to the death, or ported poorly. Select two.

Kinda makes me worry about the rest of Ubisoft PC portfolio...

I don't have too many friends who have a 360 and those that do use them as Netflix boxes (waste) and there are not enough exclusive 360 games out there for me to even consider a 360. GoW 2-3 and Alan Wake are the only games that interest me and I'm still holding onto hope that they will come to PC...yeah I know it's a stretch.

To be honest their ports are really good, it's the DRM and constant delays that are ruining their PC games. AC series and latest splinter cell game ran great for me. Of course I got ACII and SC:C for 3 bucks a piece because I refused to buy them until the DRM was removed or I could crack it

...From Dust was a terrible port from all accounts. Not Saints Row 2 bad, but pretty sloppy.

So tell me again when exactly did they fix From Dust other than getting rid of drm? Because that was a horrible port.

I never played that game so I'm not sure, I should have been more clear, what I meant was the Ubisoft games I have played have been good ports aside from the DRM/delays

You just know a whole whackload of content is being cut to scale this down for digital delivery. Too bad, I guess... but really, I don't care anymore. There'll be more than enough quality titles to play when this comes out.
