Shack PSA: Download your 3DS Ambassador games now

Although the free NES games for 3DS Ambassadors weren't supposed to be live until tomorrow, clever fans have discovered that you can download the games right now. Ten NES games are available for 3DS early adopters, including the original Metroid, Super Mario Bros, and Zelda. But how do you take advantage of this offer?

Nintendo details the process on its support page (via Joystiq):

• From the Nintendo 3DS HOME menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon.
• Scroll left and select "Settings / Other."
• Scroll down and select "Your Downloads" to view a list of transactions.
• The NES game will be listed here once it is available to download. Tap "Redownload," then "Download" to begin the download process.

It appears that the Ambassador program works by having games appear in your account as already purchased, hence the need to "redownload" games that you have not yet downloaded. This process should remain the same for when the remaining ten Game Boy Advance games are gifted to 3DS early adopters.
