Xbox Indie Summer Uprising games announced
by Steve Watts, Jul 18, 2011 11:00am PDTXbox Live's Indie Games community is organizing for another promotional push, this time with the Indie Games Summer Uprising. Eight of the ten games have been chosen by developers as good indie representation, and the two remaining slots will be filled with votes from the community.
The eight announced titles so far are: T.E.C. 3001, Speedrunner HD, Raventhorne, Take Arms, Train Frontier Express, Cute Things Dying Violently, Doom & Destiny, and Battle High: San Bruno. The last two spots can be filled by any remaining games on the Entries page, and voting will take place on the Summer Uprising Facebook page between August 1 and August 14. The games will release starting August 22, and through the month of September.
The Xbox Live Indie Games Winter Uprising was an ambitious project meant to show off the indie community's chops, but some games missed the promotion entirely due to developer setbacks. The recently-added ability to set release dates should help mend that problem, though, and event organizers probably picked games they felt confident would be finished by the release window.
