PC-exclusive Ixion Saga from Capcom revealed
by Xav de Matos, Jun 29, 2011 5:45pm PDTA new, PC-exclusive online title titled Ixion Saga is currently in development at Capcom, according to this week's issue of the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu.
Citing information collected from the Famitsu article, Andriasang revealed that the game will put players in eight versus eight online battles featuring "swords, guns and magic." Forming "unions" appears to be an integral element to the game. Players will join others in battle with their customized characters ranging from multiple class types: the sword-wielding Strikers, the magic-focused Casters, and the heavy firearm-toting Blasters.
The report also notes giant monsters will be featured in the game. Other details are scant; however, a limited player alpha test (only 5,000 players) is slated to begin on July 28. Ixion Saga is set for a summer 2012 release.
Capcom USA's senior VP recently addressed his company's growing appreciation for the PC platform, noting more love for PC gamers was on the way.
Shacknews has contacted Capcom to find out if the title will make its way stateside or remain exclusive to Japan, but have yet to hear back at the time of publishing.
