Mortal Kombat is paving the way for its next kombatant, the blind warrior Kenshi. NetherRealm Studios has announced that the new downloadable character will be available July 5 on Xbox Live, and July 6 on PlayStation Network for $5 (400 Microsoft Points). If you want to save a few bucks on DLC for the Xbox 360 version, you can get the Season Pass for all four characters.

Each downloadable character is set to come alongside a free Klassic Skins compatibility pack, as previously announced. Unfortunately, NetherRealm made no mention of which skins will be included in this set.

Today's announcement was also accompanied by a new trailer showing Kenshi in action and hinting at his Fatalities. If the ones from the recently released character Skarlet are any indication, they're going to be messy.

Actually, it was announced on the Season-Pass ticket thing. Smoke and Noob-Saibot classic costumes are coming with Kenshi.

This game is quickly souring for me. After making an exceptional fighting game, they have completely dropped the ball on the online element. Numerous desyncs, horrible lag, slow-loading menu system, no one using the auto matchmaking (which hardly ever works) and instead hanging out in channels. They've tried to patch it a couple times, but it remains a frustrating experience to play online, which is a shame because the core game is so good.

Online is a bit spotty lately, but I'm still rank 50-70 in Rank Tag for XBL. So Having said that, I've played over 1000 ranked matches since launch, so it's not too bad.

Kenchi looks bad ass, too. Glad they were able to make him suitable this time around.
