Insomniac going multi-platform with 'Overstrike'
by Steve Watts, Jun 06, 2011 1:01pm PDTAt EA's press briefing today, the company revealed it will be publishing Insomniac's multi-platform debut, Overstrike. The four-player co-op action game follows an elite team called Overstrike 9 as they set out to stop a group of global terrorists. The team -- consisting of an ex-mercenary, a thief, a scientist, and a detective -- uses gadgetry that gives Insomniac a chance to play with its signature style of inventive weapons. It will be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
"Overstrike presents a unique blend of features that have long been a part of the Insomniac DNA: high powered gadgets, action-heavy gameplay, memorable characters in a deep and mysterious universe, and of course a touch of humor," said CEO Ted Price. "And since this is our first multiplatform game, we're especially excited to introduce ourselves to a new audience - one which may not have experienced our previous games."
EA is currently on stage making announcements, this post will be updated as more information is made available.
