Cthulhu Saves the World PC includes Breath of Death VII free

The enhanced PC port of Zeboyd's retro-styled RPG Cthulhu Saves the World will also include its hit debut Breath of Death VII: The Beginning for free, the developer has announced. And it'll still only be $3 for the pair of them.

A retro-styled RPG filled with knowing nods and winks to the genre's history, Breath of Death VII picked up a cult following when it was released on Xbox Live Indie Games last year at the bargain price of $1. Cthulhu Saves the World followed in December at $3 during the community-organised Xbox Live Indie Games promotion Winter Uprising, somehow successfully turning the Lovecraft mythos into another fun retro RPG.

The PC edition of Breath of Death VII is built upon Cthulhu's engine so it'll boast several improvements over the original, including rebinding controls and the ability to save anywhere.

Cthulhu's PC port has been funded by fans through a Kickstarter project, where Zeboyd was seeking $3,000 so it could complete the port and bring its improvements to the XBLIG original too. $6,898 ended up being pledged in all.

Last week, Zeboyd said that it hopes to launch Cthulhu Saves the World this month. A Steam release has been confirmed.
