Sony Europe 'Welcome Back' program features free games
by Xav de Matos, May 06, 2011 5:00pm PDTAfter pledging to offer identity theft protection for members in its region, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has detailed its own "Welcome Back" program for PlayStation Network users.
Nick Caplin--Head of Communications at SCEE--revealed [via the PlayStation Europe blog] that affected PS3 users in the region will be able to select two free titles (from a list of five) and PSP users will be given a choice of two titles (from a list of four) as part of the goodwill initiative.
The games available as part of the program have yet to be revealed.
Caplin also details some of the complications with identity theft protection throughout Europe, noting that SCEE hopes to update users on the process by "early next week."
"Each country has a different way of handling identity theft; some offer relatively sophisticated services whilst others are much more modest," he said. "We are currently in the process of identifying how we manage this situation and once the programme is ready to launch, we will provide details of exactly which services are available in each country and explain how to sign up."
