Dungeon Siege 3 delayed for polish

Fans of clicking will have to wait a little longer for Dungeon Siege III, as publisher Square Enix announced today that the action-RPG has been delayed by three weeks.

Dungeon Siege III will now hit PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on June 21 in North America. The previous release date, just announced in February, was May 31. The new date for the European launch is June 17.

"Square Enix is committed to delivering the ultimate Dungeon Siege experience," said CEO Mike Fischer, in a press release. "Although the final polish phase has demanded a bit more time than originally planned, we want to assure fans and followers that the additional effort will allow us to deliver an action-RPG worthy of its rich heritage."

Dungeon Siege III is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the studio most recently behind Fallout: New Vegas and Alpha Protocol--two games which themselves could have used a little more polish before launching. Creator Chris Taylor of Gas Powered Games is said to have served as an "advisor" on the game.
